Forget Resolutions!
A simple framework for 2026

Coach Will here…..
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
Look, I know you're busy.
I know you've got a million things pulling at you right now.
But if you're reading this, it means you've stolen a quiet moment for yourself—and that's exactly what I was hoping for.
Maybe you're sitting in a corner while the house buzzes with family and laughter.
Maybe you're looking at wrapping paper scattered everywhere, remnants of a morning well-spent.
Or maybe you've got a warm drink in your hand, and you're just... taking it all in.
And You Know What? I Get It. I Really Do.
This time of year? It's my absolute favorite.
Not because everything magically slows down (let's be honest—it doesn't) ...
But because it's one of the rare moments we actually permit ourselves to pause.
To reflect on what truly matters.
To step off the treadmill and actually FEEL something for a change.
Here's The Thing—
Today, I'm not going to hit you with some strategy or framework.
No "productivity hacks" or "revenue optimization tactics."
None of that.
Just something simple. Something real. Something from the heart.
Because honestly? Sometimes that's exactly what we need most.
And if you're anything like me, you probably don't give yourself enough of these moments.
So take this one. You've earned it.
➡️ A Few Years Ago, I Did Something Different.
Between Christmas and New Year's, I sat down and got brutally honest with myself.
Not about goals or tactics or those BS resolutions we all abandon by Valentine's Day.
I needed something more profound.
Something that would actually hold up when the pressure was on.
When I was staring at a decision that could make or break everything.
When I felt utterly lost and had no clue what to do next.
Because the truth is —
Those moments come for all of us. And when they do, you need something solid to stand on.
I Landed On Three Words—Purpose, Discipline, Resilience.
And I'm not exaggerating when I say they've changed everything.
They've pulled me through the hardest times.
They've kept me focused when everything around me was chaos.
They've been the difference between giving up and pushing through.
✅ Purpose Is Your "Why" behind the “What”
And I don't mean some fancy mission statement you stick on the wall and forget about.
I mean the REAL answer to: "Why does this actually matter to me?"
When you know your purpose—I mean, really KNOW it deep in your gut—everything gets clearer.
You stop chasing every shiny opportunity that comes your way.
You stop saying yes to things that drain you.
You start choosing the things that actually align with where you're going.
Here's The Difference:
Without purpose? You're just busy. Running in circles. Checking boxes.
With it? You're building something that matters.
✅ Discipline Is What You Do When Nobody's Watching.
Forget motivation. That's a fairytale.
Motivation shows up when you feel good, when the sun's shining, when everything's going your way.
Discipline? That's what carries you through the days when you feel like garbage, when nothing's working, when you'd rather do literally anything else.
It's the compound interest of showing up—day after day after day—even when it's boring, even when it's hard, even when nobody notices.
And Here's What I've Seen:
I've watched incredibly talented people crash and burn because they couldn't sustain the effort.
They had the skills. They had the ideas. They had everything going for them.
But when things got tough? They quit.
On the flip side, I've watched average people—people with no special advantages—absolutely WIN because they just kept showing up.
That's discipline. And it's the difference between dreaming and doing.
✅ Resilience Is Getting Back Up.
Not once.
Not twice.
Over and over and over again.
Look—I've been doing this for a long time. Building companies. Watching them grow. Watching some of them fail.
And here's what I know for sure:
You WILL get knocked down.
Markets will shift overnight. Deals you were counting on will fall through. People you trusted will leave. Plans you spent months on will blow up in your face.
But Here's The Beautiful Part:
The people who win aren't the ones who somehow avoid all that mess.
They're the ones who get hit just as hard as everyone else...
But they choose to get back up.
They dust themselves off, learn from what happened, and step back into the arena.
And every time they do? They're stronger. Smarter. More prepared for what's coming next.
Resilience isn't about being tough or pretending nothing hurts.
It's about being durable. About bending without breaking. About lasting long enough to see what's possible on the other side.
Because trust me—what's waiting for you on the other side is worth every single hit you'll take getting there.
🤖 How AI changes the game
A few months back, I began using these three words in this AI prompt to cut through the noise and excuses. Give it a try... When I find myself stuck on a decision, I like to ask:
I'm facing this decision: [describe it]
Help me evaluate it through three lenses:
Purpose: Does this align with what actually matters to me?
Discipline: Am I willing to show up for this consistently, even when it's hard?
Resilience: If this fails, can I recover? Is it worth the risk?
Be direct. Ask me followup questions to help me see what I might be missing. It's a simple filter. But it works.
As We Close Out 2025 and Step Into 2026...
I'm not going to ask you to set goals or make resolutions.
Instead, I want to ask you something simpler:
What's YOUR word for 2026?
Maybe it's one of these three—Purpose, Discipline, Resilience.
Perhaps it's something completely different.
Whatever it is, I'd genuinely love to hear it.
Hit reply and tell me what you're carrying into the new year.
Merry Christmas. Happy Holidays.
And thanks for being here.
