Hey, it’s Coach Will

In today's issue:

  • The uncomfortable stat about strategy execution

  • Why you're avoiding, not stuck

  • A 5-minute AI audit that exposes the truth

  • The real cost of staying a learner (it's not what you think)

  • And more………

Let's get into it.

🎯 The Problem

Here's research that should make you uncomfortable:

Between 60% and 90% of strategic plans are never fully implemented.

Not because they were bad plans.

Because nobody actually implemented and used them!

Last week, hundreds of you read about the 5 Questions.

Hopefully, you saved the email.

Maybe you even told yourself you'd "try it this weekend."

Then Friday came. And went.

If that's you, you're not lazy.

You're not behind.

You're doing exactly what you were trained to do: consume more, decide less.

Treat information like progress.

The problem isn't you.

The problem is that staying in "learning mode" is comfortable.

And comfort is expensive.

🔄 The Shift

Here's what nobody tells you:

You're not stuck. You're avoiding.

There's a decision sitting in front of you right now.

One you've known the answer to for weeks, and you keep finding reasons not to make it.

New framework. New tool. New "system to implement."

Another newsletter to read.

That's not learning. That's hiding.

Let me share what I mean.

It’s called the Learner vs. Builder Framework:

➡️ Learners ask — "What should I learn next?"

Builders ask — "What should I decide next?"

➡️ Learners collect — Strategies for "someday."

Builders ship — Decisions this week

➡️ Learners feel productive — After consuming content

Builders feel productive — After making a call

The difference isn't intelligence.

Its orientation.

Information creates motion. Decisions create leverage.

The 5 Questions only work if you actually ask them.

Not "when things calm down." This Friday.

Try This…..

Altlevel™ Power Prompt - Copy this into Claude or ChatGPT:

I want an honest audit of whether I'm operating like a builder or a learner.

Here's what I actually DID in my business over the last 30 days:[LIST 5-10 ACTIONS YOU TOOK]

Here are the resources I consumed (newsletters, podcasts, courses):[LIST THEM]

Based on this:
1. Am I behaving more like a collector or a builder?
2. What's my ratio of consumption to action?
3. What's ONE decision I've been avoiding?
4. Give me 3 actions + 1 decision I could make THIS WEEK to prove I'm a builder.

Be direct. I can handle it. Ask follow up questions for a deeper dive.

Pro tip: Run it once. Pick ONE output. Implement within 7 days. No exceptions.

🔎 Let’s Deep Dive

The Real Cost of Staying a Learner

It's Sunday night. You've got 27 browser tabs open.

A 4 page todo list of "resources to implement."

Three half-finished courses.

And the same revenue you had six months ago.

You're not behind on information.

You're drowning in it — because drowning feels like swimming.

Dr. Gail Matthews at Dominican University studied goal achievement.

  • People who just thought about their goals? 43% success rate.

  • People who wrote them down AND did weekly check-ins? 76%.

Here’s the number that matters.

When you have a specific accountability, your chances of success jump to 95%.

Same goals. Same people. The only difference is forcing action.

This is why the Friday Reset works.

Not because the questions are magical. Because the cadence is.

Weekly is frequent enough to catch drift before it compounds.

Weekly creates 52 decision points per year.

Zero becomes 52. That's the gap.

By staying a learner, you pay for it in:

Time — Every year plateaued is a year you don't get back

Freedom — You built a business to escape a job; now you've built yourself a harder one

Identity — You succeeded at the hard part. Why can't you break through? (You start to wonder if you got lucky.)

One behavior change: block 15 minutes this Friday.

Ask the 5 Questions. Write the answers down.

You don't need a perfect system.

You need a forcing function that makes you face reality once a week, rather than consuming content about facing reality.

The 5 Questions are worthless if they stay in your inbox.

So, are you going to use them, or save this email too?

🎬 That’s a Wrap

Be honest: Did you do the Friday Reset last week?

If yes, what surfaced from "What's not working?"

If not, what stopped you?

Before your go, here are 3 ways I can help…..

  1. Last Week's Issue — The 5 Questions framework - Get it here.

  2. 1-3-5 GO Playbooks — The tool that makes the Friday Reset automatic - join the "WAITLIST".

Until next time,

📣 One Last Thing

I'm making a shift.

Going forward, this newsletter is for builders only — business owners who make decisions, not collect content.

Some of you will unsubscribe. That's okay.

I'd rather have 1,000 builders than 10,000 browsers.
